Several Christian Scientists are sitting around the bed of a sick man, praying for his recovery, knowing the Truth about the perfection of Man as God's Perfect Child and the unreality of Sin, Sickness, and Death. Then another Christian Scientist enters the room and says, "What's the problem? There's a perfectly healthy man on the bed!"
Query -- did a Christian Science healing actually occur, or has the newly arrived person mastered the art of denying the testimony of the material senses?
The latter can be ruled out, in favor of a third possibility. If the latter appears to be the case, the person hasn't really mastered the art of denying the testimony of the material senses, but rather the art of being mindlessly stupid. Why? Because he is denying the testimony that there is a sick man on the bed. He isn't denying the testimony that there is a man on the bed, or that there is a bed, or that there are Christian Scientists sitting around the bed working for him.
